ABOUT
About Hallowell's Tree Frog
Grows to about 3-4 cm. Breeds from March through June. Lives in lowland forests, thickets, and farmland, and lays eggs in rice paddies and other still water. It becomes active on humid days and rainy nights, and during the breeding season forms large chorus gatherings near rice paddies. It perches a little way up, such as on the tips of branches, and even when calling loudly is hard to spot. Solid green and very beautiful. Its call resembles that of the Japanese tree frog.
