ABOUT
About Pryer's Keelback
Grows up to about 110 cm. Most easily observed from May through November. Slender-bodied, with a black or blackish-brown color and yellow or brown banding along the body. It prefers watery habitats and is often found around rice paddies and other spots with plenty of small frogs. It is venomous, but its fangs for injecting venom are small, and a bite alone is said not to introduce much venom into the body — even so, the venom itself is quite potent, so caution is needed. It feeds on frogs, fish, geckos, and small lizards. It moves quickly, but will threaten you if it senses danger.
