ABOUT
About Ryukyu Green Snake
Grows up to about 100 cm. Most easily observed from May through November. Mainly diurnal, though many individuals are also active at night. It has a small head and feeds mainly on earthworms. It is the most numerous snake on Amami Oshima and can be seen in forests during the day and along forest roads at night. Larger individuals will sometimes threaten you, but they flee very quickly, sliding down slopes to escape.
