ABOUT
About Amami Groove Riffle Beetle
A small aquatic beetle found on Amami Oshima (nominate subspecies). The population on Okinawa Island and Iheya Island is distinguished as a separate subspecies, the Okinawa groove riffle beetle (*O. a. okinawana*), and an introduced population is also known from Guam. Riffle beetles mainly live in clean streams, but the detailed ecology of this species itself is still largely unknown.
