ABOUT
About Amami Hairy Dung Beetle
A rare dung beetle found on Amami Oshima, with very few collection records. It was described in 1986 by Teruo Ochi as *Aphodius (Trichaphodius) atsushii*, but later taxonomic revisions placed it in the genus Gilletianus. It is thought to live off the droppings of the Amami rabbit, but much about its ecology remains unknown, and records of it are limited.
